As far as destinations go, Valdez, Alaska is a tiny town. (New Valdez, that is, since a 1964 earthquake destroyed the original.) But the current version of the town makes up for its size with big fishing action that’s sure to lure in the enthusiast angler! Salmon and halibut are among the local inhabitants, but fishing isn’t quite the end of the Valdez story — the local waterways are also a great place from which to kick off some kayaking action. Outside of the sporting world, you’ll even find your chance to visit regional sights like Worthington Glacier, best experienced from Thompson Pass, or experience a mini-cruise through Prince William Sound toward glacier and wildlife sightseeing perfection.
