Is the Isle of Man in the United Kingdom? No… but also kind of yes. Look, it’s complicated but the capital, Douglas, is a destination that started off in the 1800s as a vacation resort (they call it “holiday,” of course), attracting visitors from all around the area with seaside delights like dramatic coastlines, great beaches and nature aplenty. Today there’s so much to see and it’s all so beautiful, with castles, parks, nature reserves and more. But the past is never far, and a rather plentiful collection of museums puts it all within reach, whether your interests tend towards the nautical, aviation, military… or human, including the Isle of Man’s Celtic and Viking days.
