Conservation Tour: Join a Community Conservation Ranger to find out all the types of conservation work that is carried out on the Conflict Islands. This includes seasonal turtle nesting where you can visit the hatcheries and turtle nursery where young, weak, and sick hatchlings are cared for. You will learn all about turtles, their lifecycles and how the rangers work to protect them from a range of threats such as climate change, plastic pollution and local harvesting.
What to Bring: Wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, hat, biodegradable sunscreen, and bottled water.
Good to Know: The island does not hold cash of any currency. There is a cashless EFTPOS system installed on the islands. Cash will still be accepted where necessary. There is some walking on sandy tracks involved.
