Explore Honfleur, a charming 13th-century fishing village, during a guided walking tour in Normandy. Honfleur was the birthplace of the Impressionist and Romantic art movements. It was also the base for France's 17th-century voyages of colonization. As you stroll through the narrow streets, you’ll see the Vieux Bassin, an old harbor that dates to 1681. You will also pass the Lieutenance, a grandiose building located at the entrance of the harbor that served as a home for the King’s Lieutenant. You’ll also walk past St. Catherine’s Church, a 15th-century church built by shipwrights. Today, it’s the largest wooden church in France, with a separate bell tower. After your guided tour, you’ll have some free time to explore this charming town filled with art galleries, sidewalk cafés and traditional craft shops on your own. Your tour will conclude with a drive across the new Normandy Bridge spanning the Seine Estuary, as you make your way back to the pier.
