Indulge in wine tasting at Colares Winery, followed by a stop at Cape Roca, the westernmost point of Portugal. Located on the eastern slope of the mountain range of Sintra, the tiny village of Colares owes its importance to its local winery and the excellence of the wine produced there. Produced under special microclimate conditions, the Colares vines are cultivated in small scale vineyards and worked manually. This results in a unique wine being created, which is considered one of the best in Portugal. Your wine-tasting experience at Colares Winery will take place in the beautiful building of the old cellar dating back to the 19th Century. Here you’ll have the opportunity to sample 3 of the wines that they produce. Leaving Colares, a scenic drive will take you around the hills of Sintra and towards the Atlantic Coast. A stop will be made at the top of the cliffs of Cape Roca, the westernmost point of Portugal and continental Europe. Before joining the highway for your return journey to Lisbon, you’ll be treated to stunning sea views of the rocky coast of Guincho.
