Leaving the port behind, you will cross the 25th April Bridge and enjoy stunning views of the capital before heading towards Cabo Espichel, where you can see some of the beautiful beaches located on the south bank of the River Tagus. Arriving at Cabo Espichel, pause and hear about some of the mysterious legends that are told of this remarkable place. The Romans are said to have considered the Cape to be sacred, believing that the gods met here at night. In the Middle Ages a cult grew up around an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Nossa Sehora da Cabo, which is said to have saved a vessel from shipwreck. Your journey continues to Sesimbra, an old fishing village of traditional whitewashed houses. Stop to view the exterior of Sesimbra’s Moorish castle and to admire a panoramic view of the village below.
Stop at the village for some free time before your tour takes you into the Arrábida Natural Park where you have the chance to admire this area's beauty and richness before heading back across the Tagus to Lisbon.
