Travel back in time over 2,000 years and explore ancient ruins in the village of Tindari, where the legendary Black Madonna resides in the Tindari Cathedral. Tindari's history is one of defeat and conquest, and its modern town gives us stunning archeological remains that testify to this history. After a short sightseeing tour of Messina, you will proceed for approximately one and a half hour along the Tyrrhenian coast towards Tindari. By the sea, and overlooking the Aeolian Islands, you will visit the Greek Roman Theater known for its Gladiator fights in Imperial times and its Roman Villa. Famous for its black Madonna Statue, you will also see the Christian Sanctuary that draws visitors from afar and is Tindari's main religious attraction. Free time will be given at the end of your excursion to visit the few souvenir shops available.
