The port of Messina will be the starting point for a trip that will enable you to discover the landscape and flora and fauna of Sicily. Accompanied by your local guide, you will travel through vineyard sand valleys of stratified lava, until reaching an altitude of 2.000 meters. From the top of the Silvestri Craters you can admire the Volcano in its entire spectacular and at the same time terrifying charm.
You will then stop in Etna area for lunch after which you will continue to the little city of Taormina that has plenty of monuments of different periods. You will proceed on foot from Porta Catania to the famous Greek Theatre, built in the 2nd century B.C. and subsequently transformed into an Amphitheatre(still in use) by the Romans.
Your guide will let you admire the external facade of Palazzo Corvaja, seat of the Sicilian Parliament. You will have short free time to stroll through the fascinating narrow streets of the old town or to do some shopping before being returned to the pier.
