Glacier by Helicopter: Embark on an exhilarating adventure as you take a short drive to the heliport and get ready to soar high above the breathtaking Alaskan landscape. Upon arrival, you will watch a safety video and be outfitted with sturdy glacier over boots before taking off on your helicopter tour. Your journey will take you deep into a rugged region of sheer mountains, majestic valleys, and massive glaciers. Jagged peaks towering over the Chilkat Glacier, cascading waterfalls surrounding the Ferebee Glacier, or the spectacular “river of ice” known as the Meade Glacier, may be among the wonders you’ll encounter.
Glacier Walking Exploration: You’ll land on the glacier and get up close and personal with these ice giants. Enjoy a walking exploration, while experienced glacier guides answer your questions and explain the awesome forces at work.

Requirements & Restrictions: Guests are required to enter the aircraft with little to no assistance. For safety reasons, they must be able to walk a minimum of about 200 ft. and navigate two 18-inch steps into the aircraft on their own. Once on the glacier, there is about a 1/4 mile walk over uneven, rocky terrain led by a knowledgeable glacier guide. Due to weight and balance limitations, guests weighing 250 pounds (113kg) or more, fully clothed, will be charged a second-seat surcharge of $150 to reserve adequate space on board the helicopter. Flights are restricted to one second-seat surcharge per departure time. Groups traveling together may be assigned on separate helicopters due to weight balancing. Federal Aviation Administration regulations require that all children 24 months and older, on any aircraft, must occupy their own seat which must be paid for. All children under 24 months of age are considered a lap child and fly free of charge. Due to security reasons, no bag of any kind, canes, crutches, extendable devices such as umbrellas or action camera sticks, water bottles, tablets are allowed on the helicopter. There are lockers at base to store anything that can't be taken on the aircraft. Parental Consent forms: A parental consent form is required for all passengers ages 12 to 17 who will be participating, on any tour, unaccompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to fly without a parent or legal guardian.
What to Bring: Guests should wear comfortable shoes and dress in warm layers. Hat, gloves, sunglasses, waterproof outer layer and cameras are recommended.
Good to Know: This is a weather dependent tour and up to the sole discretion of the tour operator. Total tour time is approximately 2 hours. Seating in the helicopter is determined by weight and balance and is at the sole discretion of the tour operator. Tour order may vary.
