From 29 March 2025 P&O’s Pacific Adventure® and Pacific Encounter® will join the Carnival Cruise Line fleet as Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter®.

When will Pacific Adventure® and Pacific Encounter® join Carnival Cruise Line?
Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter have joined Carnival Cruise Line in March 2025. The ships were renamed Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® and they sailed away on their first cruises under Carnival Cruise Line on 29 March 2025.
How can I book on Carnival Adventure® or Carnival Encounter®?
Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter cruises can be booked through  Carnival Cruise Line
When will my booking on Carnival Adventure® or Carnival Encounter® be moved over to Carnival Cruise Line's booking system?
All bookings from P&O Cruises have been migrated across to Carnival.
When will I be able to check-in for my cruise on Carnival Adventure® or Carnival Encounter®?
Guests become eligible for online check-in 14 days prior to sailing. To check-in online please go here You will need to enter your booking confirmation and last name to complete online check-in.
Will the onboard currency change to USD when the ships become Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter®?
No. Just like the other Australian based Carnival Cruise Line ships, the currency onboard Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter will be Australian dollars.
Will Carnival Cruise Line have cruises departing from other ports other than Sydney, Brisbane, and Singapore?
Carnival Cruise Line operated itineraries are currently published until mid-2027. As for cruises beyond that date, the destinations and itineraries are always under review.

Carnival Adventure will be homeporting in Melbourne for a month in 2027, which is very exciting news for Victorians wanting to cruise from their home state. Those cruises are now on sale.
How can I upgrade my stateroom?
Upgrades are available for purchase through your travel agent or directly through Carnival.

Byron Beach Club

Will Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® continue to have Byron Beach Club?
Yes, Byron Beach Club will be remaining on both ships. Guests booked in all Suites and M1 & MA mini suites (as booked through P&O Cruises Australia) will continue to receive access to Byron Beach Club. Please note that when the ships join Carnival Cruise Line, the names of the room categories will be changed to bring them in line with the other Carnival ships. This means that all mini suites will be renamed to Ocean Suites, however those that have access to Byron Beach Club will have 'Byron' in the category name.

Accommodation Options

Will there be any changes to accommodation options on Pacific Adventure® and Pacific Encounter® when they join Carnival Cruise Line?
When the ships join Carnival Cruise Line the names of the room categories will be changed to bring them in line with the other Carnival ships. This will mean that all mini suites will be renamed to Ocean Suites, and those that have access to Byron Beach Club will have 'Byron' in the category name.

Dining and food

Will Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® have free pizza like the other Carnival ships?
When the ships join Carnival Cruise Line, free pizza will be served from Deck 7 between 11am and 4pm daily.
Will Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® have free soft-serve like the other Carnival ships?
Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter won't be getting Swirls soft-serve. New Zealand Natural will continue to be on both ships when they join Carnival Cruise Line, offering a great selection of ice cream, shakes and sundaes (fees apply).
Are any of the restaurants remaining onboard Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter®?
Many of your favourite restaurants and food options from P&O Cruises Australia will be remaining, including Waterfront, Luke's Bar & Grill, Angelo's and Dragon Lady.
Will Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® have free burgers like the other Carnival ships?
Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter will not be getting the included burger dining option that is available on some Carnival ships. However, Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter will continue to have Luke's Burger Bar onboard offering mouth-watering burgers, salad and hot dogs. Please note that Luke's Burger Bar is not included in the cruise fare.
Will Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter have the Carnival drink packages? What happens if I have pre-purchased a P&O drinks package?
If you have purchased a P&O drinks package, the product will be unchanged. We are in the process of finalising future drink packages for Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter. Watch this space for an announcement in early 2025.
How do I select a dining time?
If you had not already done so at the time of booking, you can select a dining time in cruise manager once the booking is moved.
How do I know which dining room I am assigned to on Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter®?
Carnival Adventure & Carnival Encounter will use Rotational Dining, enjoying multiple restaurants on each sailing. Those dining assignments are done for guests onboard by our shipboard team.
Are meals included in my fare?
Yes, main à la carte restaurants and the lido buffet are included as part of your fare. And on select ships we also include pizza and ice cream. For more information on what's included you can view our all our Dining Options across the Carnival fleet.

Kids and Families

Will there be any changes to Kids Clubs when the ships join Carnival Cruise Line?
The onboard Kids Club programs on Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® will be updated to Carnival's youth program Camp Ocean, and teen programs Circle “C” and Club O2. Carnival's Turtles program will also be available on both ships where children under two years of age are welcome to join in Camp Ocean activities during specific times. Parents will have the option to leave their under two year olds in the care of youth staff for a fee, or they can stay with the child and use the facilities at no charge.
Will Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® have Build-A-Bear workshops?
Build-A-Bear Workshops at Sea will take place on Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter cruises (charges apply).
Will Carnival's Conga for Kids initiative be on Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter®?
Yes, just like on Carnival's other two Australian based ships, Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter will have 'Conga for Kids' on cruises 7 nights or more.

Onboard Activities and entertainment

What will the theme nights be on Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter®?
Both Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter will be getting Carnival theme nights, including the electrifying 80s Rock 'n' Glow, Silent White-Hot Night, and Elegant Evenings.
Is P&O Edge Adventure Park staying on both Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter®?
Yes, the Edge Adventure Park® will be remaining on both ships, offering heart-pumping experiences and breath-taking views (charges apply). Any Edge Adventure Park passes purchased pre-cruise with P&O Cruises Australia for a Carnival Adventure or Carnival Encounter cruise will be transferred over to the Carnival Cruise Line booking system in March 2025.
Is Blanc de Blanc Uncorked continuing on Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter®?
Yes, this award-winning show direct from Strut & Fret Las Vegas will be continuing, providing you with the opportunity to watch the finest cabaret and acrobatic talent from around the world, combined with risqué humour, opulence and edge of your seat theatre (charges apply).
Are the Twin Racer Waterslides staying on Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter®?
When the ships join Carnival, you'll still be able to race your friends on the twin racer waterslides, although the slides will be getting a new name, so watch this space!
Will P&O's themed cruises like 80's, 90's, Country and Comedy continue to operate with Carnival Cruise Line?
Yes. Themed cruises will be continuing with Carnival Cruise Line, including 80s, 90s, Country and Comedy cruises, through to January 2026. From 2026, we are increasing the number of getaway cruises to meet demand for a short break holiday.

Shore excursions

What will happen to my pre-purchased shore tour booked through P&O Cruises for my Carnival Adventure® or Carnival Encounter® cruise®?
The shore tour program will be staying the same when the ships move to Carnival Cruise Line. Any shore tours purchased pre-cruise with P&O Cruises Australia for a Carnival Adventure or Carnival Encounter cruise will be transferred over to the Carnival Cruise Line booking system in March 2025.

Medical, Mobility, Dietary and other Needs

Will I need to add my dietary requirements again when my booking is moved over to Carnival Cruise Line?
Any information provided on your booking (to P&O Cruises Australia) about dietary requirements will be passed over to Carnival Cruise Line, however you should reconfirm your requirements with the Maître D or head waiter when you get onboard.
Will I need to add my medical, mobility or accessibility requirements again when my booking is moved over to Carnival Cruise Line?
Any information provided on your booking (to P&O Cruises Australia) about medical, mobility or accessibility requirements will be passed over to Carnival Cruise Line. You can also find out more information about medical needs and accessibility on the Carnival Cruise Line Website . Please note that Carnival Cruise Line, including their Guest Access team, will not be able to access your booking details until mid-March 2025. Before this date you can continue to contact P&O Cruises Australia on 13 24 94(AU) / 0800 78 0716(NZ).
Will Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® have KultureCity support measures for guests with sensory and cognitive needs?
As part of Carnival Cruise Line's certification by KultureCity, guest-facing crew on both ships, including the Guest Services team and Youth Staff, will be trained to understand and help guests with sensory/cognitive needs. Complimentary KultureCity Sensory Bags will also be available on both ships (availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis). More details are available on the Carnival Website . Please note that Carnival Cruise Line, including their Guest Access team, will not be able to access your booking details until mid-March 2025. Loyalty

Will my past cruises with P&O Cruises Australia earn me Carnival Very Important Fun Person (VIFP) Club points?
Princess Captain Circle program - Any past cruises you have taken with P&O Cruises Australia (prior to March 25) will count towards your Princess points and will not count towards Carnival VIFP Club points.

Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® will earn VIFP points and you will be able to access the exclusive deals and perks on these cruises with your VIFP Club membership.
Will I be able to access Carnival VIFP Club perks on Carnival Adventure® and Carnival Encounter® cruises?
Yes, Carnival Very Important Fun Person (VIFP) Club members will be able to access VIFP Club perks on all Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter departures.
How can I add my VIFP number into my booking for Carnival Adventure® or Carnival Encounter®?
When your booking on Carnival Adventure or Carnival Encounter is moved over to the Carnival booking system at the end of March 2025, if you already have a VIFP number and have used the same contact details on your booking as your VIFP membership, your existing VIFP number will likely be assigned to your booking automatically. From mid-March 2025, you'll also be able to contact Carnival Cruise Line on 13 31 94 (AU) / 0800 442 095 (NZ) to check if your VIFP number is on your booking.

What will happen with the P&O Pacific Partnership when the ships move to Carnival Cruise Line?
The guest-funded Pacific Partnership program will continue onboard Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter. This scheme supports organisations in the South Pacific, and it's our way of giving back to the destinations we visit. We do this through a range of organisatons, including ProMedical Vanuatu, which provides life-saving pre-hospital care.
Can I bring a bottle of wine onto my cruise on Carnival Adventure or Carnival Encounter?
Yes, Carnival's liquor and beverage policy will apply on Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter, which means, guests can bring one 750 ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne per adult (18 years of age or older) onboard on embarkation day. Port, Vermouth, Sherry and other fortified wines, over 15% alcohol by volume (ABV), cannot be brought on board.

Please note that for departures prior to 29 March 2025 that will be operated by P&O Cruises Australia, P&O's policy will continue to apply and guests are not permitted to bring any alcohol onboard.
Can I bring my own alcohol onboard my Carnival Adventure or Carnival Encounter cruise?
Yes, Carnival's liquor and beverage policy will apply on Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter, which means, guests can bring one 750 ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne per adult (18 years of age or older) onboard on embarkation day.
